Say "HELLO" to Twister Morns.

Almost every single morning... I will deff be awoken with an unnatural start... People living in the kampong would rise unreservedly to the "cock-a-doodle-doo..." alarm demonstrated by the proud roosters. Whereas, for my case, I'd be interrupted from my "almost-paradisiacal" dreams by the irksome Javan Mynas (those black birds with yellow beaks we'd always see hovering round)! Even with the window panes shut up tight, they'd conveniently loiter along the latch on the other side (perhaps try to take alil peek inside) and seem to belt out atrocious tunes of "Proud Mary"... their voices so strident that it no doubt penetrates through the thick glass, arousing me to jolt out from bed, pull open the panes...SHOO them off, where they'd eventually take flight to report their mission to Ms. Mary up amongst the clouds. NA BEH KUKU BIRDS!!! And previously, I almost thought my mum was crazy clapping to herself in the kitchen as though she was performing some "XIANG LONG SHI BA ZHANG" rituals with someone I couldn't make out with my naked eyes... but it was then that she was trying to jerk away a thirsty birdie which flew into our basin in anticipation for a free flow of cleansed water. Now I know... I've also read, that we can murder such pests without even breaching the law! (Source: Javan Myna) So... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? Purchase some pistols via Amazon and start your shootings RIGHT NOW!!! It's LEGAL! (Yes, that's if we ever can hold a real gun!)

------

Alright, so we know 2007 is on its way. Very close. So close we just wanna leap over to the other side rather than holding back on this side. And so if you ask me for resolutions, there'd be NONE for the new year. NO NO NO. I know I'm not someone who keeps them. Each year I make tens, twenties, hundreds of them, and I gave myself 365 days to work on it, but at the end, I'd only accomplish close to zero. So what for? We prayed for world peace, and we get more disasters... we hoped that happiness will come our way, but day by day, we feel like giving up in despair. Instead, I think we should try to do it at this moment in time, rather than say we WILL do it given the span of the next 12 months.
But I have one important wish - That's that I won't R.I.P till I've actually accomplished what I'm supposed to. And I hope it will be granted, not just to myself, but to everyone out there as well.

Nothing compares to HER.
.
OHMYGAWD! I can't believe I literally did N.O.T.H.I.N.G this whole day despite that the connection is back on trail! (though sup-dup slow!). Well, maybe I'm really net-deprived after so many hours of designalization (if such word ever exists at all). You know it's just so painful... like your life has been cut short, and all the joy has been taken away... now we know the importance of Internet. Of course, it's not all dependent on that... Did abit of reading this afternoon and felt kinda refreshed by some of the author's messages here and there... very true instances indeed... that's why he's that renowned, this brilliant philosopher. Wanna know who? Ask me!
.
Anyhow, I saw this short clip of an interview of Jennifer Hudson on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and I've so say she's just one funny girl! You know, I don't care whether she's fat or ugly or clumsy or whatever nasty remarks people out there dump at her. She's beautiful in her own skin, we' all are. To me, she's the WHOA-Factor. Deff WHOA WHOA WHOA! I like how she's getting all the attention, she's getting there! LURVE IT! I don't know, maybe I have a thing for people with something BIG. Big voice (yo, big people can really hit big notes), big personality, big... ahem... oh you know what I'm talking about! Plus, I think American Idol did bring out some good people. Praise A.I!
.

.
.
And she sang alil tune of "One Night Only", a song off the soundtrack. Ohhh.. about that... I previewed some of the tracks and dude, it sounds phenomenal! Now I really wanna get it!!! But OH LORD... why will the film only premiere on Feb 22nd? That's too long a wait, ain't it? I don't care... I'm gonna DOWNLOAD! "We're your DREAMMMGURRLLS.... OOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Don't You Hang Up On Me!

HEAVENS! What's going on with the Internet? I've been disabling and enabling and repairing this damn thing umpteen times and it just would'nt connect, TILL NOW! WAH KAOZ! Really disobedient la! Anyhow, the news reported that the disruption may have been brought about by the quake in Taiwan. But ... isn't that like a hundred thousand miles away?? However, its lucky of us for not been jinxed with such disasters that could absolutely cause torment to our lives. Consider ourselves blessed that we've only gotta endure the never-ending rain accompanied by some exclusive lightnings. But seriously, this rain is getting on my nerves! One moment it pours insanely... next, the water got cut off somewhat somehow somewhere in mid-air, and all I wanted was just to renew my lungs with some fresh Oxy... but when I'm just savouring the breeze that's caressing my skin for barely a few secs, IT FALLS AGAINNNNNNNN! And I've to shut those panes AGAINNNNNNNNN! ("@$^$%$#$^%@@&^%&^#$+@$#@@*&...!!!!!!")
Now, I really need to continue on my holiday assignments and I only have one little wish... that's that THE INTERNET MUST WORK ON WELL AND NOT FAIL ON ME (or anyone else for that matters who desperately need it for the everyday agendas.)! PRETTIEE PLEAZEEEEE!!!

First and foremost, MERRY CHRISTMAS, Y'ALL! Hmm... I must say Christmas Day here is just like every other day to me. What's so very special 'bout it? Nothing. Okay, maybe we all do feel alittle more joyful during this seasonal holiday. However, it's quite silly, cos' over here, it's simply about Santa impostors trudging around with sags of pathetic gifts, snow substituted by foamy sprays, wet and sticky bodies nudging against the other in the sardined-downtown. Most people celebrate this day just for the sake of merrying around, when they don't really even know its purpose. But anyhow, there isn't that sorta traditional meaning behind it... Well, generally, it's known that Christmas Day marks the birthdate of Jesus. However, the actual birthdate of Jesus has been debated globally. And still is. It's kinda erratic because most Christians believe Jesus was borned on Dec 25th. On the other hand, there's a considerably large group of them who disagrees. How I remember in one of my classes in my first year, this topic was raised and it caused a minor disputation amongst my classmates (who were Christians themselves, but from different churches), that our tutor had to end the contention. Oh well.

Anyways, MJ and I celebrated the Eve starting with dinner at Esmirada @ Chijmes, which serves Mediterranean cuisine. We were seated right inside, where it was really cosy and warm (perhaps the heat from the blazing stove and oven?), and the lighting were dim with the company of tall candles that contributed to the romantic aura (Disclaimer: MJ and Eugene are NOT AN ITEM, AT ALL!). Well, just in case. Menu booklet weighed like a piece of brick. Service was good.

I like the way the kitchen looks on the exterior. The formation of the artificial bricks (or is it real?) and you should see how the kebabs' prepared, uniquely! The tantalizing aroma really made us wanna run behind that place and gobble down all the food!

UHHH! Whoever says you can erect till a glorifying length, compare yours with THIS! Yes, that's the garlic bread. I almost burst my lungs when this thing came to our table. Like, WHART ON EARTH?? It does somehow look like an overgrown "rod" , doesn't it? Or a more like a sabre? Or a rod? Or saber? Oh you tell me!

JUST LOOK! Those were the utensils they provided for me, EXCLUSIVELY! Initially, I was unquestionably INSULTED... like do you really think my mouth is that BIGG?? HUH HUH HUH?!?! (But of cos' if you see, that's for the salad. LOL!)

MJ: "I wish upon my plate of seafood spaghetti... that Eugene will tell me honestly how "FUGLY" I look in this picture and that the most deserving item to be in it, should just be the plate itself!"

Ooooo... That's my food! PAELLA ESPANOLA that's what its called. Spanish saffron rice with seafood toppings. It was a huge portion, managed to finish slightly beyond half. I'm just not a fan of the essence of prawns in the rice. But the prawns themselves were great!

The above is called Lemon Creme Brulee, it's something like lemon pudding with this sweet and crispy crust thinly coated on top. Pour in the strawberries... and ohhh MMMMMMMMMMMMMM! MJ had the one below... Melting Moments it is. Those brownie-like based tartlets are simply scrumptious, and it gave us the AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! sensation when we sent the mixture into our traps. Perfect desserts.

All in all, it was a delightful dinner we had at Esmirada. And the bill wasn't that booming either. Affordable I should say.

So, we planned for Mt. Faber right after. The place was really jammed with cars and all we saw were people entering The Jewel Box and the cabbie didn't even stop when we made it clear that our destination was right there. Instead, he continued driving till we descended the "Mountain" and ended up at VivoCity. How nice. And VivoCity is so not a place to chill or shop or whatever. What on earth are those people doing right there when most of the shops are already closed? I don't get it. While we were at the sky garden, someone actually offered to sell snow sprays at $10/can, when all you need to pay is $2.50 at 7-11. That guy can jolly well stuff that can up his tight hairy hole.

Next, it was Botanic Gardens. It was almost 11.30pm and obviously there was no one (except a few) and really, WHAT THE HELL WERE WE THINKING??? It was so frigging spookish and unnerving, especially when it's quite dark. What if we got robbed or worst, GANG-RAPED????? Really, I couldn't envisage that! There were a few couples who went in and disappeared shortly. Then, we spotted a Caucasian lad loitering along the path and we jest that he might be there to engage in some ONS' or Orgies later in the open. Lucky for us, there was a couple following right behind and we successfully made our way out to Tanglin before 12. Phew!

On our way to the main street, we passed by Hedlard and was determined to break in for some X'moose candies, but of course after wise thoughts, refrained ourselves from committing sins on this special day.

Break or not?

HEY'ALL! YES! Finally, CTs are off the way! (I know I should've said this long ago!) So I'm quite a free bird for the time being, but not for long! Cos' finals' on its way and will be here very very soon! Pffffffft! Of course, I'm currently having my 2 weeks vacation break (though it doesn't really seem like it...) and projects are just booming here and there, imbibing so much time off this period when I'm supposed to be well-off somewhere else... and like, it's supposed to be a break, so GIVE US A BREAK ALREADY! Maybe I don't really have to wait long for the next I guess. I was supposed to pay a little visit to my former-colleagues and friends back at MTI but am just really tied down. ARGH. Time management YES! I've heard things've changed in the Ministry and I really wanna know what's going on. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an e-card from Ena, when I know she's really really busy with her work, yet, she cared to send a greeting over. Thanks ENA!

Heard from Kai Ting last night, after so long! And I was totally flabbergasted when I learned from him that one of my friends, Gan Ann is attached... like FINALLY! (She's 21 and this is her first love!) Oh gosh, I should speak for myself actually! People all around are getting attached but what about me? Where's my love? HAELLLO!!! MY L.O.V.E, WHERE ARE YOU?? OH MAN OH MAN OH MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!! I'm DESPERATE! Ugh... let's drop this for the moment... BOO HOO. Anyways, I'm really happy for Gan.

Carrying on, Kai Ting's actually having his internship in downtown London! How very cool is that! According to him, Really, it's freezing over there. But when the working hours are on, it's just like dancing on the hot plate, he claims. It's competitive. So much so that he misses his stint back in MTI which ended 3 months ago before leaving for Cambridge again. Now, it's yet another new environment for him, and his pocket's so filled because over there, he only needs to work 3 days just to get the monthly allowance as much as that he got while he was in MTI (it was a pathetic 600) back then. 30 days for 600, just 3 days for that, there. And previously, Lynn told me she got news that the minimum pay students get for temp jobs (like dish-washing or sorts...) in UK, it's 12 pounds/hr. Tell me how terribly high the standard of living is. Yes, I remember ordering a bowl of wanton noodle in London's Chinatown back in 2000, and it cost 13 pounds then. That's about SGD39 for just wanton noodle, no? Hooi yoh...tsk tsk tsk.

She's IRREPLACABLE.

Beyonce Beyonce Beyonce. What can I say about her. A true Diva. Her sophomore album, B-Day, which was released in July this year, has reached platinum status and the first 3 singles off the album ("Irreplacable" being the latest) are hitting hit notes on the Billboard Charts. Though I thought this album isn't as good as the first, its obvious that this gal is working hard to earn big bucks. Recently, there's an insider news claiming that Beyonce is unhappy with Jennifer Hudson (former American Idol 3 contestant, now co-star of Dreamgirls) for all the attention the latter is receiving. Rumor has it that Beyonce's parents even told Jennifer off with regards to this matter. Whatever it is, both Beyonce and Jennifer are great talents, they're amazing. I really think those are just gossips, and it's silly. You know how reporters love to cook up pathetic stories.
On the other hand, Entertainment Weekly believes Jennifer will win a Best Supporting Actress nod in the forthcoming Oscars, and New York Times reporter David Carr says that Hudson "steals the show," reports TMZ. Even Oprah called up the songstress and told her it was a "transcendent performance." This is one piece of pleasant news! I would really love to see Jennifer win a trophy for herself since she didn't take the crown in American Idol 2 years ago. But this will be so much BIGGER! And I can't wait for DREAMGIRLS!!! It's not coming out here yet, not until 22nd Feb =( that's what Cathay says! )=.
Anyhow, I was bored and was toying around and found 2 great vids of Beyonce. The top being a performance at the AMAs which occurred last week. And below, we have Ms. Knowles and the fellow casts of Dreamgirls on Oprah, where the former performed a stunning piece penned by herself for the movie. It's called "Listen", and really you have to LISTEN!!!
P.S: (Pluck in your earphones for better sound quality!)
