Recaps.

Few days back, one of the regular readers claimed that she noticed I haven't been updating my mould-ridden blog. Hence, I felt obligated to post a short update to what happened these couple of weeks. Well, internship was a little dull this week, but I'm going to try my best to keep positive for the duration of the period. 14 glorious weeks till the end of work. Bring in the countdown timer! Good fer those people who've just finished their respective internship programmes. But HAH, it's back to school fer them! HOLLA! Oh well, I'd rather be back at school than working. Again, it'd be a different story when school work takes toll. Let's just say I hate being a student. Is life just all about studying and working? What else can we really do? Absolute insanity.
Friday, took a break (Okay, people who know me knows that I take breaks all my life, LOL!) and catched 'Take the Lead" with fellow Ms M.Junie. Had PastaMania, which was by constrained demand by the mortal who donned a sleazy top with Elvis pasted across her mounted chest. Elvis' back must be hurting, I bet. So I asked, "What's so good 'bout pasta?" And Ms. M.Junie splattered a theory of "What's so good 'bout rice?" They're uncomparable, Ms THANG. But ain't wasting no breath of mine to bicker over this semi-logical theory with you, PastaManiac. 'Take the Lead' got me groovin' to the beat. Cheesy lines for Antonio, as mentioned by Ms P.Maniac. Formal-ANTM 3 contestant (Runner-up), YaYa DaCosta, named LahRette in the movie, did a fairly great job in her debut act. I've thought she was the ultimate winner of ANTM 3, but Eva Diva took the crown. However, looks like this is the start of a glittery journey for Ms YaYa. The dancing was fantastic. The characters are really easy to connect with, and utterly likable. 'Take the Lead' cares about young adults like us, always seeing not just what we are, but what we might be. When you see the ending of this movie, you might think that it stops a little bit short. But I was entertained! Just so wanna shake on that dancefloor. WOO!
Today, exercise! The last time I did that was like... HUH? WHEN?? Seriously, it's time to get those flabby bottoms up and work it out! I will try making this a weekly routine. Feels great to know that your body's charging up once again.

Shoot that dummy! Shoot it down!

Urgh, this is too small a place to even breathe air. Life's too hasty here. Really, I can't wait for the day which my folks are constantly discussing about.
The day which I'm gonna leave this place. Yet another countdown fer meh!

Appreciate.

In life, there are just so many unforeseen events that each and everyone of us could not anticipate anyhow. Everyone of us has our own journey to embark on. And it started once we arrived into this world. To me, this long and winding road seems endless. In reality, we do not want to race to the finish line unless we have fulfilled and accomplished our agendas.
Just as I was punching the letters on my greasy keyboard, a moth fluttered out of nowhere, hovered round my laptop and landed elegantly on my disorganised bureau. I flinched at the thought of murdering it. What if it was her? What if she has came to pay me a visit? What if this was the only chance I can get to tell her what I wanted to say? I couldn't miss this opportunity. Am I thinking too much? I know she has crossed her finish line, but I can still feel her presence, as though nothing has happened at all. Like what Min Jun told me, she might be somewhere, but we couldn't see her.
She was a wonderful woman. A loving mother. A caring teacher. A true friend. She is Mdm Ong Foon. Always cheerful, jovial and known to some of us as "Apple", Mdm Ong was one of the greatest person who has since walked into my life. She was like a mother to us all. I still remember how she used to conduct the choir, waving her hands gracefully in mid-air. I still remember how red her chubby face turned when we admitted that we had forgotten to bring our musical scores. I still remember how she used to stand in the middle of the music room, thumping rhythmically on the keyboard. I still remember how she made us laugh when taught us to open our nostrils and make our bodies go "FAT FAT". I still remember how she used to spread an adorable grin across her face when we cracked jokes. I still remember how I used to tease her and call her "MEI-NUE" (Pretty Girl) every single time I see her. I still remember how we used to peep over the half-opaque door to the staff lounge near the canteen to spot her chattering joyfully with the other teachers. I still remember how often Kai En and I used to visit her desk at the staff room only to find her chewing on her snacks. I still remember how I used to confide in her when in doubt. I still remember those ecstatic moments spent while we were in Genting and Perth. I still remember how she poured her heart and soul out for the entire choir, trying to bring out the best in us. I still remember how we used to embrace one another in our arms. I still remember how she used to tell us to study hard for Chinese Lang. I still remember how delightful her voice sounded. I still remember how she used to tell us stories when we appeared bored. I still remember how she used to impart moral values to us all when she seemed to sense that we lacked some.
I miss her. It's too hard to imagine she's gone. I just can't take the truth. I'm relieved that she has been released from her agonising pain these couple of years. But I lament to the fact that I won't be able to see her in person anymore. My heart is painful. I still remember vividly the last hug, and those words we exchanged last year. That was it.
Mdm Ong, I truly wish to thank you for everything you've taught me these years since I stepped myself into Coral and choir. We've made several wonderful memories of us. I will be reliving those memories to remind me of you. I miss you Mdm Ong. Wherever you are, I hope you will be blissful. I love you.
Goodbye.

Glorified.

Yes. I've been a slacker when it comes to posting to this blog, partially because I'm noticeably busy with work, but mostly because I feel like I have nothing much to say other than how busy I am with work. So from now onwards, its gonna be a 2-weeks thing that I'm updating my blog. I'm down to 4 months before the attachment programme ends. My, how time flies! I'm enjoying my internship these days, which is a marked departure from my annoyance on those unsolved doubts about how I am to survive such interminable working lifestyle for 5 miserable months. But, TAH-DAH! It's not really that long afterall. I hope!

Alrighty, these 2 weeks passed incredibly fast. The people at MTI are downright neigbourly. I love how my colleagues and I can bring in the laughing tide, literally transforming the entire office to an insane asylum.
So last Tuesday, we had a major event, that is the MTI Firefly Symposium 2006 held at Suntec Convention Centre theatre. It was an annual event where agencies under MTI gather to witness and hear out on the latest updates on MTI's new vision and mission, including the inaugural launch of the spirit of striving forward together in a borderless environment. Ken, Jie Ying and yours truly were approached to perform a voice-over for the SuperNation Video which was shown to the 550 strong audiences. I was the narrator, plus some hysterical segments, and OH MY, it was absolutely amusing! Chin Heng, the AD for Enterprise Div took 2 days to collate every piece of info, combining and morphing them into one big fat truly entertaining short clip. In addition, there were panel discussions on issues about how MTI can shape Singapore's economy when it focuses on forging new growth frontiers. Most of the materials and contents are meant for internal consumption only, so there's nothing much I can speak of.

It was really an eye-opener as well as a delightfully admirable exposure as I have learnt from the event the eminent factors when it comes to working as a team, making the event a wholesomely successful one and striving forward together in a borderless environment. At the event, the business etiquette elements came to use and we took this opportunity to socialise with people from the many different agencies such as STB, JTC, EDB and VIPs such as the Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. He's really down-to-earth and humorous.

Dr Vivian and US!

The symposium kept me alert on MTI's motives and its existing activities, allowing me to visualise the network linkages inside out. It was an experience I'd never erase from my mind. And because we all worked diligently hard for the event, Heather treated us to lunch on Wednesday. We went to this bar restaurant across Clarke Quay (forgotten its name). The food was scrumptious, but I was just too filled up with the hotcakes I previously had early in the morn.

BIG THANKS to Heather! Btw, Heather is not my supervisor, but the S.A.D for OCM, supervisor to Jie Ying and Ken. Her last day is supposedly to be the very last day of April, but she left service last Friday. We presented her with a couple of gifts, a workoholic cup and an adorable photo-hanger, with the faces of 3 narcissists. Yup, that's US! HAHA! We had so much fun posing for the NEOs. Bought 2 cakes also for Heather. Everyone gathered and showered her with wishes.

Rejoicing in I-SPACE!

Though she's not my supervisor, she is one person I look up to. Heather is a great mom, who is so capable. She taught me to not look down on oneself.
To Self-Market is what she claimed to be the imperative ingredient one needs to brush oneself with. Believe in your abilities and strive toward your goal. Never neglect your talent. Let the talent in you take charge.
